Football Recap: Sleepy Eye/St. Mary's Takes a Loss

Sleepy Eye/St. Mary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-22 heartbreaker at the hands of Springfield/Comfrey. While losing is never fun, Sleepy Eye/St. Mary's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Springfield/Comfrey is ranked 17th).

Sleepy Eye/St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Springfield/Comfrey, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Coming up, Sleepy Eye/St. Mary's will head out to challenge MACCRAY at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Springfield/Comfrey, they will welcome Russell-Tyler-Ruthton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Springfield/Comfrey 12.5, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 14) so any points scored will be well earned.
