Soccer Game Preview: Williams vs. Cedar Ridge

The Williams Bulldogs will face off against the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Williams' defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Person as they made off with a 9-0 win. Williams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Cedar Ridge got the win against South Granville on Wednesday by a conclusive 7-0. It was an even better day for Kate Finnegan as she scored four goals for her team.

Something new happened on Wednesday as Finnegan saw her first action of the season, playing ten minutes against South Granville. Finnegan made the most of the opportunity, scoring four goals and one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Williams has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 44 goals over those eight matchups. As for Cedar Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 8-12-1.

Williams might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Cedar Ridge when the teams last played back in May of 2025. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bulldogs were down 3-0.
