North Fork lost to Gunnison back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Miners put the hurt on the Cowboys with a sharp 56-31 win. Fans of the Miners have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

North Fork found their leader in sophomore Meri Hollembeak, who shot 57% from the field to rack up 21 points along with seven assists and four steals. Hollembeak has also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: she's posted one of at least 57% every time she's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Lovelace, who went 7-for-13 en route to 14 points and six boards.

North Fork smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

North Fork's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Gunnison, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

North Fork wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-45 win against Rifle on the 13th. As for Gunnison, they have also already played their next contest, a 45-40 victory against Grand Valley on the 13th.
