Softball Recap: Fredericktown's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Fredericktown extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping them up to 16-4. Everything went their way against the St. Clair Bulldogs as they made off with a 17-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Black Cats, who have now won 11 contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Fredericktown got a massive performance out of Brylie Allgier, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Allgier has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Penwell, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

As for St. Clair, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly 13 runs.

On St. Clair's side, Alyssa Jesionowski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Jesionowski has hit this season. Macy Naes was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Fredericktown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-3 defeat against Chaffee on the 8th. As for St. Clair, they have also already played their next contest, a 17-2 loss against St. Pius X on the 7th.
