Baseball Recap: Hillsboro Victorious

Poplar Bluff typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Hillsboro proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Mules by a score of 6-3. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 4-1 win the Mules walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2017.

Alec Fleming and Max Partney did most of the damage at the plate: Fleming went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Partney got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most RBI Fleming has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Zach Partney, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Hillsboro now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Poplar Bluff, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-10.

As of now, neither Hillsboro nor the Mules have any future games scheduled.
