Baseball Recap: Chapel Hill Takes a Loss

Chapel Hill came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Villa Rica Wildcats, falling 7-1. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Brennan Austin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two).

Chapel Hill now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Villa Rica, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Chapel Hill is taking a road trip to take on New Manchester at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Villa Rica, they will square off against Bremen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Villa Rica's pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so Bremen's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
