After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fort Stockton, Big Spring was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Kermit Yellow Jackets 49-14. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for the Steers this season.

When it comes to explaining why Kermit lost, don't look at Armando Urias. Despite the final result, he rushed for 110 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards.

Big Spring's win bumped their record up to 4-2-1. As for Kermit, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coming up, after each having a week off, Big Spring and Andrews will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Steers will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.86 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Kermit, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lamesa at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Yellow Jackets will need to watch out since the Tornadoes have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
