Football Recap: Mesabi East Comes Up Short

Mesabi East had taken Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Giants fell 26-22 to the Raiders. The Giants were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Mesabi East and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin, the victory also got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mesabi East will host International Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Moose Lake/Willow River at 7:00 p.m. The Raiders will need to watch out since the Rebels have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
