Basketball Recap: Capistrano Valley Takes a Loss

Capistrano Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 36-26 to the Santa Ana Valley Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 36-23 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Santa Ana Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayleen Roldan led the charge by putting up nine points. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Guadalupe, who posted nine points.

Capistrano Valley's record now sits at 2-13. As for Santa Ana Valley, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

Capistrano Valley will welcome Tesoro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Ana Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-10 victory against Santiago on the 10th.
