Basketball Game Preview: Penn-Trafford Warriors vs. North Hills Indians

The Penn-Trafford Warriors and the North Hills Indians will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Penn-Trafford has nine straight victories, North Hills has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Thursday, Penn-Trafford took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-17 win over West Mifflin. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 26 points or more this season.

Penn-Trafford had a senior duo take command as Lauren Marton went 6 of 9 on her way to 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals and Kamryn Pieper posted ten points and six rebounds. Marton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Torrie Destefano, who put up nine points.

Penn-Trafford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, North Hills didn't have quite enough to beat Butler on Thursday and fell 55-53. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Golden Tornado are ranked 130th).

Penn-Trafford pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for North Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Penn-Trafford against North Hills when the teams last played back in February of 2022, as the squad secured a 50-16 win. Does Penn-Trafford have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Hills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
