Recap: Aquinas Falcons vs. King Wolves
After a string of six wins, the Aquinas Falcons's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 46-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of King. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Aquinas has scored all season.
Aquinas lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Juliette Gaytan, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madeleine De Kodia, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Aquinas' defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for King, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aquinas and Xavier Prep will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Xavier Prep will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. King will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
