Basketball Game Preview: McDowell Trojans vs. Cathedral Prep Ramblers

McDowell hasn't had much luck against Cathedral Prep recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The McDowell Trojans will face off against the Cathedral Prep Ramblers at 7:15 p.m.

McDowell is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-30 heartbreaker at the hands of Erie. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Royals are ranked 112th).

Meanwhile, Cathedral Prep came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 38-27 win over the Royals.

Cathedral Prep's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for McDowell, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

McDowell might still be hurting after the 53-33 loss they got from Cathedral Prep when the teams last played last Monday. Can McDowell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
