It was a good run, but Pepperell unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trion Bulldogs. Pepperell was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Trion apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on Thursday.
Pepperell got a good showing from Chris Alphin, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Madoc Garcia was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Layton Sanford was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Pepperell's loss ended a 17-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 26-3. As for Trion, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
