Softball Game Preview: Edmond Santa Fe Wolves vs. El Reno Indians

The Edmond Santa Fe Wolves will square off against the El Reno Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Edmond Santa Fe fell victim to Norman North and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timberwolves. Wolves fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Timberwolves since Saturday.

El Reno couldn't beat Enid on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Indians lost 21-8 to the Plainsmen.

Izzy Birdsong was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Brailynn Vickery was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

El Reno's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Edmond Santa Fe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-20 record this season.

Edmond Santa Fe was able to grind out a solid victory over El Reno when the teams last played back in August of 2018, winning 6-2. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
