Basketball Game Preview: Sierra Pacific Golden Bears vs. Atwater Falcons

The Sierra Pacific Golden Bears will face off against the Atwater Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sierra Pacific comes in on nine and Atwater on seven.

Sierra Pacific is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They managed a 66-61 win over Grant. Given the Golden Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Pacers are ranked 158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Atwater strolled past Valley Christian with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 58-39.

Atwater's victory was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.3 points. As for Sierra Pacific, their win bumped their record up to 24-8.

Sierra Pacific took their victory against Atwater in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 68-44. Does Sierra Pacific have another victory up their sleeve, or will Atwater turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
