Recap: Sierra Timberwolves vs. Oakdale Mustangs
The Sierra Timberwolves were the 47-28 winner over the Oakdale Mustangs when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Sierra falling 42-25. Their defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Sierra saw an underclassman step up: Mya Everett scored six points along with six rebounds. Everett has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Janessa Barnes, who scored two points along with three steals and three blocks.
Sierra's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 11-9. As for Oakdale, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Sierra will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Manteca at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Manteca focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday. As for Oakdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
