Basketball Game Preview: Beyer Patriots vs. Johansen Vikings

The Beyer Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Johansen Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johansen took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Beyer, who comes in off a win.

Beyer took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 63-53 win over Lathrop.

Meanwhile, Johansen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 59-13 defeat at the hands of Grace Davis. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 971st, while the Spartans are ranked 260th).

Beyer pushed their record up to 11-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Johansen, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Beyer strolled past Johansen in their previous matchup on January 6th by a score of 68-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Beyer since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
