Goddard took a 34-point defeat the last time they faced off against Gadsden, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rockets pulled ahead with a 28-27 photo finish over the Panthers on Friday.

Gadsden's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JUAN RIOS, who rushed for 142 yards and a pair of touchdowns. RIOS' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. DEION TORRES also helped with two scores in total.

Goddard is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.3 points over those games. As for Gadsden, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goddard will challenge Deming at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Gadsden, they will face off against Roswell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
