Basketball Game Preview: Ferndale Yellow Jackets vs. Johnstown Christian Bluejays

The Ferndale Yellow Jackets will face off against the Johnstown Christian Bluejays at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Ferndale is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 64 points on Thursday, they were much more limited against Cambria Heights on Monday. They took a blow against the Highlanders, falling 67-18. The contest marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Abby Barley and Deajah Chatman, who each put up six points.

Meanwhile, Johnstown Christian's and Calvary Christian Academy's game on Tuesday was close at halftime, but Johnstown Christian turned on the heat in the second half with 30 points. Johnstown Christian put the hurt on Calvary Christian Academy with a sharp 51-30 win. The Bluejays have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Ferndale and nudges their season record down to 10-7. As for Johnstown Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.

Ferndale didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Johnstown Christian in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 46-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ferndale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
