Recap: Bayard Rustin Golden Knights vs. Great Valley Patriots
The Bayard Rustin Golden Knights won the last time they faced the Great Valley Patriots, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Bayard Rustin walked away with a 45-35 win over the Patriots. Given Bayard Rustin's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Patriots are ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bayard Rustin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Stackhouse out in front who scored 17 points along with two steals. Stackhouse has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Betchyk, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Bayard Rustin has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Great Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
Bayard Rustin will be playing at home against the Hornets at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Great Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
