Soccer Recap: Villa Rica Extends Winning Streak to Four

Villa Rica proved they can win big last Friday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a goal and slipped past the Douglas County Tigers 5-4. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

They hit Douglas County with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alexander Melendez (2), Cooper Easterwood, Ezra Miahnahri, and Kenneth Thompson III.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Villa Rica, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those four matches. As for Douglas County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Villa Rica face off against Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chapel Hill will need to watch out since Villa Rica has now posted at least four goals in their last four games. As for Douglas County, they are taking a road trip to take on Alexander at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
