Soccer Recap: Piedmont Hills Comes Up Short

Piedmont Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 4-0 to the Leland Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Chargers are ranked 69th).

Piedmont Hills' loss dropped their record down to 5-3-4. As for Leland, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 5-2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piedmont Hills will challenge Leigh at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Leigh is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season. As for Leland, they will face off against Gilroy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
