Softball Recap: Bishop Neumann Wins Going Away Against Twin River

Bishop Neumann had won three straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped up to 19-8 to make it four. Everything went their way against the Twin River Titans as they made off with a 13-2 win. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Kylie Choutka was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubree Milliken, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Bishop Neumann always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Twin River only posted an OBP of .400.

As for Twin River, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-10 record. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Twin River's side, JLee Van Driel made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Van Driel has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 15 times she's played.

Looking ahead, Bishop Neumann will challenge Falls City at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.3 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of. Twin River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
