Cheyenne Mountain had won three straight at home, but on Friday they bumped up to 18-5 to make it four. They blew past the Thornton Trojans 15-3. The result was nothing new for the Red-Tailed Hawks, who have now won 12 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Addison Gutschick spent all four innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Corinne Harlow was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. Madison Anderson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Cheyenne Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thornton only posted a batting average of .333.

As for Thornton, they moved to 20-3-1 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak. The contest marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

On Thornton's side, Elenna Gray was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lilyana Martinez, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Cheyenne Mountain didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-7 loss against Pueblo County on the 17th. As for Thornton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 9-8 defeat against Northridge on the 17th.
