Basketball Recap: Pope John Paul II Takes a Loss

Pope John Paul II played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 86-24 loss at the hands of the Perkiomen Valley Vikings. Pope John Paul II hasn't had much luck with Perkiomen Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perkiomen Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bella BACANI, who went 9 for 12 en route to 22 points. BACANI is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Lena STEIN, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine assists.

Pope John Paul II's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Perkiomen Valley, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Pope John Paul II didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-31 victory against Harry S. Truman on the 11th. As for Perkiomen Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 84-19 win against Norristown on the 13th.
