After losing to Jacobs the last time they met, Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rockets narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Golden Eagles 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rockets have posted against the Golden Eagles since October 12, 2021.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Central got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 25-21.

Haidyn Schatz paced Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Schatz got some help from Tiernan Naus and her 14 assists. Schatz also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lexi Yanez, each putting up two.

When it comes to explaining why Jacobs lost on Thursday, don't look at Rylee Van Stone. Despite the final result, she had nine digs and two assists.

The win made it two in a row for Central and bumps their season record up to 14-9. As for Jacobs, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-14.

Coming up, Central will face off against Prairie Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jacobs, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Belvidere on the 4th.
