Baseball Game Preview: Mott Marauders vs. Hazel Park Vikings

The Mott Marauders will face off against the Hazel Park Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mott has seven straight wins, Hazel Park has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Mott got the win against Center Line by a conclusive 13-3. Considering the Marauders have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Hazel Park's offense. They lost 20-0 to New Haven on Friday.

Hazel Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Small, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Mott now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Hazel Park, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mott has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hazel Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Mott might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from Hazel Park in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Marauders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
