Basketball Recap: Liberty Charter Comes Up Short

If Liberty Charter was riding high fresh off their 58-10 takedown of Bayfront Charter last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Liberty Charter Lions had to suffer through a 42-15 loss at the hands of the School for Entrepreneurship & Technology Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against School for Entrepreneurship & Technology this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-19 back in January.

It was another big night for Kameron Owens, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 steals for School for Entrepreneurship & Technology. The dominant performance gave Owens a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Malia Edwards, who posted six points and four steals.

Liberty Charter's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for School for Entrepreneurship & Technology, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Liberty Charter and School for Entrepreneurship & Technology's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Liberty Charter will square off against Ocean View Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, a team that's only allowed 27.33 points per game. Liberty Charter is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Similarly, School for Entrepreneurship & Technology and High Tech NC (who has only given up 26 points per game) will meet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty Charter will stroll in with a three game home winning streak, but they should still watch out: the last time they lost at home was their January 23 matchup with School for Entrepreneurship & Technology.
