Soccer Game Preview: Hammond Central vs. Hammond Baptist

The Hammond Central Wolves will square off against the Hammond Baptist Swordsmen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hammond Central fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against East Chicago Central on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Hammond Central couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Hammond Baptist had just enough and edged out Heritage Christian 3-2 on Tuesday. Given Hammond Baptist's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Heritage Christian are ranked 127th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Hammond Baptist and bumps their season record up to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two contests. As for Hammond Central, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
