Basketball Recap: Harvest Community Triumphs

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Harvest Community ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-56 win over the Englewood Rams. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Adam Lawson was his usual excellent self, putting up 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Harvest Community's points. Ryan Pritchard was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Harvest Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Englewood lost, don't look at Prennis Alston. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 14 on his way to 19 points and four steals. Alston is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Thomas Mitchell, who posted nine points.

Harvest Community now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Englewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Harvest Community has already played their next contest, a 74-43 loss against Eagle's View on the 14th. As for Englewood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-31 victory against River City Science Academy on the 14th.
