Volleyball Game Preview: Weeki Wachee Hornets vs. Satellite Scorpions + Official Tickets

After both having extra time off, the Weeki Wachee Hornets and the Satellite Scorpions will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Weeki Wachee will be strutting in after a win while Satellite will be coming in after a defeat.

Weeki Wachee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Hernando 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted against the Leopards since September 19, 2023.

Kendyl Eastin was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 14 digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (40). Payton Jung was another key player, getting 11 digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Weeki Wachee was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Satellite lost 3-0 to Merritt Island on Thursday.

Despite the loss, Satellite saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cady Tinch had 21 digs and two assists. Tinch is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Weeki Wachee's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Satellite, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's match: Weeki Wachee has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Satellite struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.5 aces.
