Softball Game Preview: Rampart Rams vs. Fruita Monument Wildcats

The Rampart Rams will venture away from home to challenge the Fruita Monument Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Rampart has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Fruita Monument will arrive with six straight wins.

Rampart fell victim to Palisade and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 16-0 to the Bulldogs.

15 must be Fruita Monument's lucky number: they beat Niwot with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Wildcats never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Rampart's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Fruita Monument, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.

Rampart might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Fruita Monument in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
