Basketball Recap: Juniata Comes Up Short

Juniata lost against Penns Valley Area back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Juniata Indians lost to the Penns Valley Area Rams at home by a 59-42 margin. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 16-12 in the first quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Penns Valley Area to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ellie Romig, who went 7 of 12 en route to 19 points. Romig's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Johnson, who went 8 for 12 on her way to 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Juniata's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Penns Valley Area, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-7.

Juniata has already played their next game (against Shamokin Area), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Penns Valley Area wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-39 win against Huntingdon on the 6th.
