Baseball Recap: Kearsley Comes Up Short

Kearsley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Almont Raiders.

Kearsley got a good showing from Jayce Weidenhammer, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Kearsley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Shortridge, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Carson Saxton also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Kearsley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Almont, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.

Coming up, Kearsley will square off against New Lothrop at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Almont, they will challenge Everest Collegiate at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
