Baseball Recap: Yosemite Victorious

Yosemite came out on top against Caruthers on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Badgers took their matchup against the Blue Raiders 8-3. The Badgers haven't had any issues with the Blue Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Brady Olson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Taytum Whitesides was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Dane Tashiro also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Yosemite's record now sits at 7-4. As for Caruthers, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Yosemite is set to take on their familiar foe Fowler at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Caruthers will face off against rival Minarets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
