Basketball Recap: Great Commission Takes a Loss

Great Commission played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 46-10 defeat at the hands of the Johnstown Christian Bluejays. The match marked the Bears' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Ava Bordack was Great Commission's leading scorer, having posted six points. Sophia Fleck held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Johnstown Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lily Lushko, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Noel Lushko, who posted six points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.

Great Commission's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Johnstown Christian, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Great Commission will head out to square off against DuBois Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Johnstown Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Ferndale at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Johnstown Christian's defense has only allowed 20.8 points per game this season, so Ferndale's offense will have their work cut out for them.
