Football Recap: Erwin Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Erwin can now relate to. They were beaten by the South Point Red Raiders 48-13 on Friday. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Patrick Blee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Point, rushing for 98 yards and four scores on only eight carries, while also throwing for 90 yards and one touchdown. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Blee a new career-high. Walker Spargo was another key player, gaining 105 total yards and two touchdowns.

Erwin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for South Point, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Erwin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Point, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 985 yards in their previous games.
