Basketball Recap: Clairemont Comes Up Short

Clairemont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They lost 34-14 to the Coronado Islanders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Islanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 28-12 back in January.

Leading Coronado to victory were Gabby Fichter and Selena Herrera. Fichter posted 12 points, while Herrera scored 11 points. What's more, Fichter also racked up three boards, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Alina Molina was another key player, putting up eight points.

Clairemont's loss dropped their record down to 2-23. As for Coronado, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

As of now, neither Clairemont nor Coronado have any future games scheduled.
