Football Game Preview: Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls vs. Rio Rancho Rams + How To Watch

The Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls will square off against the Rio Rancho Rams at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Carlsbad is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Hobbs, who was ranked fourth at the time (Carlsbad was ranked 12th). The Cavemen/Cavegirls took a hard 31-13 fall against the Eagles on Friday. The Cavemen/Cavegirls have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Rio Rancho played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Cleveland and fell 49-14. The matchup marked the Rams' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Carlsbad's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Rio Rancho, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.

Carlsbad was dealt a bruising 50-0 defeat at the hands of Rio Rancho when the teams last played back in September of 2021. Can the Cavemen/Cavegirls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
