Soccer Recap: Dougherty Valley Comes Up Short

Dougherty Valley lost against Foothill back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Dougherty Valley Wildcats fell just short of the Foothill Falcons by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while the Falcons are ranked 128th).

Dougherty Valley's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-4. As for Foothill, their win bumped their record up to 5-0-3.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Dougherty Valley take on the Carondelet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Carondelet will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Dougherty Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Foothill, they will venture away from home to square off against Dublin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dublin's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
