Baseball Recap: Hawkinsville Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hawkinsville can now relate to. They fell 7-4 to the Screven County Gamecocks on Wednesday. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Gamecocks earlier this season, when they won 9-3.

Hawkinsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Hawkinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Screven County, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 17-11 record.

While Hawkinsville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
