Volleyball Recap: Splendora Wildcats vs. Kingwood Park Panthers
Splendora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Kingwood Park Panthers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.
Kennedy Dean paced Splendora's offense, picking up eight kills. Dean got some help from Lanie Kitchen and her 15 assists. Braylie Griggs controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Kingwood Park was led to victory by Zoe Paez and Emma Abel. Paez had five aces, while Abel had five digs and two aces. Those five aces gave Paez a new career-high. Gia Sambrooks also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Splendora's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Kingwood Park, they pushed their record up to 19-15 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Coincidentally, Splendora and Kingwood Park will both be playing Pasadena the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
