Recap: Tulelake Honkers vs. Willows Honkers
On Friday, Tulelake lost to Willows on the road by a decisive 53-38 margin. Tulelake has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tulelake's loss came despite strong showings from Makenzie Perez and Josefina Mojica. Perez dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Mojica scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Mojica scored a full 39.5% of Tulelake's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Tulelake now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Willows, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tulelake's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hayfork at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hayfork is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Willows, they will head out on the road to face off against Biggs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Biggs will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
