Meanwhile, Shelby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against East Gaston, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-11, 25-17.

Stuart W. Cramer's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Shelby, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.
