Basketball Game Preview: Masterman vs. Central Lancers

Masterman will challenge the Central Lancers at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Masterman is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They managed a 47-41 win over Baldwin on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Central entered their tilt with Mastery Charter Hardy Williams on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Knights 60-22. That 38 point margin sets a new team best for the Lancers this season.

Central found their leader in sophomore Stevie Hall, who went 9 for 16 on her way to 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hall has scored all season. Ava Yancey was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Central has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. As for Masterman, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Masterman came up short against Central when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 50-42. Thankfully for Masterman, Jayda G Wright (who posted 23 points and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
