Football Game Preview: Erwin Warriors vs. T.C. Roberson Rams

The Erwin Warriors will square off against the T.C. Roberson Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Erwin put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Asheville. The Warriors have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Erwin's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jah'Baree Tolbert, who rushed for 112 yards and three scores, and Caden Ingle, who threw for 222 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, T.C. Roberson waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 41-0 win over the Jets. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Rams' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Jets are ranked 295th).

Erwin better focus on containing Karod Harris and Mookah Simpson as the pair were huge in T.C. Roberson's win. Harris rushed for 62 yards and one TD, while Simpson rushed for 110 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Simpson has posted since back in August.

T.C. Roberson's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Erwin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Erwin didn't have too much breathing room in their game against T.C. Roberson in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 26-21 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Rams' Zeb Swangim, who rushed for 54 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Warriors to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
