Baseball Recap: Hercules Titans vs. St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins
After flying high against Kennedy last Wednesday, Hercules came back down to earth. Hercules fell 8-5 to the St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins on Thursday. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bruins earlier this season, when they won 13-3.
Cameron Solis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Melgoza, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
Hercules' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-6-1. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Hercules will square off against Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennedy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something Hercules will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, they will be playing at home against Branson at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Branson will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something St. Patrick-St. Vincent surely won't give up without a fight.
