Basketball Recap: Orestimba Warriors vs. Sonora Wildcats
Orestimba fought the good fight in their overtime match against Sonora on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sonora Wildcats. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 37-35.
When it comes to explaining why Orestimba lost, don't look at Ashlynn Bell. Despite the final result, she went 8 for 15 to rack up 19 points.
Sonora found their leader in sophomore Isabella Ahrens, who posted 23 points. Ahrens continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Faught, who scored nine points.
