Football Recap: Smith-Cotton Starts Season with Win at Home

Smith-Cotton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 17-7 victory over Warrensburg. This was payback for Smith-Cotton, who suffered a 42-26 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Smith-Cotton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Connor Harris, Samuel Wright, and Wiskur picked up one apiece. Wiskur got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smith-Cotton is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Rock Bridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Warrensburg, they will venture away from home to take on Cameron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
