Baseball Recap: Eastside Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Eastside's offense. They lost 11-0 to the North Oconee Titans on Tuesday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Eastside got a good showing from Levi Pickett, who struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Pickett has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 7-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-10 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Eastside and nudges their season record down to 13-12. As for North Oconee, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 20-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Titans beat Eastside by a score of 12-2 on Friday.
